Emerge, a Lake Macquarie accounting and business advisory firm, has expanded by opening an office in Maitland.
Emerge Director, Charles Gromek, said that with a growing client base in the Hunter region it was important to be close at hand, available and able to meet with clients at their place of work.
“However our growth really started five years previously when I sought another Director to help service our clients,” Charles said.
“Our business clients were in need of more business advice, yet the firm was submerged in tax and compliance work. The world of cloud technology was rapidly changing how businesses could run and manage their work, and SMSFs were taking off.”
Enter Ben Connell, an accountant from a mid-tier firm in Sydney.
“It was critical to me that Ben had worked at a firm in which he had daily exposure to business owners, helping them with real life problems,” Charles continued.
“I wanted to maintain that close working relationship even with a broader service offering – local care and service, city expertise and experience. That’s what we are about.”
“I think one of our clients put it best when he said, ‘What I like about Emerge is that you give a sh!t’ – and that really encapsulates what’s important to us.”
With the opening of the new office the Emerge team will be able to provide more flexibility for their Maitland clients.
Emerge Director, Ben Connell said that with the growing pressures on Hunter business owners there has been a demand for advisory services
“Our new office in Maitland means we can make ourselves more readily available to our expanding regional client base. I love the personal side of meeting with business owners, getting to know them and helping them grow their profits and reduce their tax and this will make me more accessible to these clients too.”
