Following the growth of Australian Business Lawyers & Advisors’ (ABLA) Newcastle office, Hunter-based Lawyers Kyle Scott and Suzie Leask have been promoted to Directors of the NSW-based firm.
ABLA CEO, Nigel Ward said the Newcastle workplace and employment team has experienced significant growth under Kyle’s leadership.
Nigel said Kyle’s focus on working with Business Hunter and clients in navigating the complexities that COVID-19 has thrust upon businesses over the past two years has been unrelenting.
And with the current snap lockdowns, he said Kyle and the team are helping businesses understand their options whilst maintaining legal obligations to their employees.
“The promotions fit with our key strategic plans for supporting businesses in Newcastle and northern regional NSW,” Nigel said.
“ABLA has a strong reputation among Hunter businesses thanks to Kyle and Suzie’s work with clients and in their involvement in the broader business community.
“Our motto is ‘experts make things simple’, and Kyle, Suzie and their team do that every day for clients who often have complex matters.
“They embody our approach of mutual respect and collaboration with clients.”
Kyle is a Law Society of NSW Accredited Specialist in employment and industrial relations law. He has more than a decade’s experience in managing complex terminations, enterprise bargaining, award compliance, post-employment restraints and employment litigation.
His expertise is demonstrated by the fact that he is recommended in the Doyle’s Guide and the Legal 500 Asia and Pacific lists of top employment lawyers.
Suzie advises private, government and not-for-profit clients in a broad range of sectors on all aspects of corporate and commercial law.
She joined ABLA after working for a top-tier Sydney law firm and as in-house Legal Counsel for a global firm. Suzie contributes to many local boards and committees.
Her expertise has been recognised in several awards including NSW Women Lawyers’ Private Practice Lawyer of The Year.
