In response to the devastating impact COVID-19 has had on local businesses, the team at Property Solutions 101 have reached into their own pocket to give back to the community during these difficult times.
Each week the buyer’s agency and property management business has been running a voucher giveaway on their Facebook and Instagram page, which is open to members in the community to enter. Every voucher given away is selected from local businesses in the Hunter.
Director/Buyer’s Agent at Property Solutions 101, Kylie Frearson, said that it was important to their team to give back to the community who have helped them so much throughout the years.
“Our business wouldn’t be where it is today without the support of the local community. For us, it’s so important that we give back where we can sustain and support those who have been such an integral part of our community and business,” Kylie said.
“We hope that these weekly giveaways provide local businesses and individuals with a glimmer of hope during these testing times. We could all do with a bit of good news, and for someone this voucher may just be that.”
Their first giveaway, earlier this month, was for a $100 voucher in support of the team at Newy Burger Co.
During the pandemic, Newy Burger Co have been giving away free meals as well as kindness boxes containing essential items, which was why the team were inspired to give back to them for all their community support.
“We chose Newy Burger Co, not only because they have delicious food, but because they are real team-players. They are so connected to the community and this really inspired us to look into new ways to support locals too. For us they seemed like a perfect fit for our first giveaway voucher prize,” Kylie said.
The most recent business in their round of giveaways was Antojitos, who are also playing a crucial role in providing back to others in the community.
They are currently giving all the proceeds of their chicken tortilla soup to the Victims of Crime Assistance League (Vocal), based in Newcastle.
Kylie said that it was this kind of community supports that deserves to be acknowledged, and by buying a voucher this was one way they could do that.
She said choosing a business to support has been an easy task, especially when you see all the amazing work Hunter locals are doing to support each other.
“In the Hunter, we really value and look out for each other. It makes times like these more bearable when we know everyone has each other’s back,” Kylie said.
“So many local businesses and individuals are doing it tough, but in one way or another we still band together to help each other. It makes picking a business to support every week such a fun and rewarding process.”
