Managing change to be topic of conversation

Managing change to be topic of conversation

A business forum aimed at helping organisations sustain momentum and encourage employee engagement during challenging times will feature a skilled panel of change leaders.

Workplace difficulties and opportunities will be explored during Changing Ways, where discussion will focus on what is needed to ensure organisations not only survive but thrive during significant reorganisation programs.

Winton Consulting is hosting the free breakfast forum from 7.30am at NeW Space, Hunter Street Newcastle on 17 May. CEO Clare Dunnicliff said many organisations are struggling to manage the sometimes difficult and complex issues experienced during major change periods.

“Any type of change, big or small, can be confronting for those involved unless there is courage, commitment and a clear direction,” Clare said.

“More importantly, the best change strategy won’t work if an organisation doesn’t actively involve and engage its people from the start.”

The panel includes Shaun Deverson, a sustainability leader and strategist specialising in business improvement, transformation and sustainability in an increasingly changing and complex operating environment. He’ll be joined by Fiona Leatham, Interim Head of Human Resources at Newcastle City Council who is directly supporting the CEO to undertake organisation-wide change, and organisational development specialist Louise Geoghegan who has 17 years’ experience helping companies lead, manage and communicate change with stakeholders.

“Our panel represents some of the most experienced change management practitioners across industries,” Clare said.

“We’ll be identifying how our rapidly changing workplaces can best deal with challenges and want to encourage people to come along and be part of the wider conversation.”
