New customer satisfaction data from Roy Morgan shows the Hunter-based Greater Building Society is Australia's most loved banking organisation.
Of all the banking organisations (including banks and credit unions) Roy Morgan Research reports on in its monthly customer satisfaction monitor, The Greater had the highest aggregated customer satisfaction score of 97.2% in the six months to September 2013.
The Greater has won Roy Morgan's monthly customer satisfaction monitor survey for Australia's Best Building Society every month reported so far in 2013 (latest results are for November).
The Greater's head of customer relations Lisa Presbury said the their 800 staff are the reason why The Greater Australia's most loved banking organisation.
“Our staff care about their customers and are supported to go the extra mile for them,” Lisa said.
She also said that The Greater's mutual business model was also a factor in achieving near perfect customer service.
“As we are customer owned, we put our profits back into supporting customers and local communities, not shareholders.”
She said the Greater provides traditional one on one service through its 64 branches across NSW and the Gold Coast but it also provides customers with a full range of other service options including mobile lenders as well as free phone, internet and mobile banking. The Greater also operates a Live Chat service on its website staffed by people.
“When people call our customer service centre or branch they speak to a real person straight away who takes responsibility for solving their enquiry, rather than a computerised menu option.”
The Greater is also the most awarded Australian building society in the Mozo People's Choice Awards.
