Roberts Legal bolsters its corporate and commercial capability with new Senior Lawyer appointment

Roberts Legal has welcomed the appointment of George Maggiotto as Special Counsel in its Commercial and Corporate division.

George is a Senior Solicitor with over 20 years’ experience in business and company law, property law, commercial leasing, and advanced estate planning.

He specialises in complex business and property transactions and has considerable experience assisting owners of multi-million-dollar franchises.

Before joining Roberts Legal, George was a Partner for 12 years at a mid-size Newcastle based law firm, where he gained considerable experience representing small and large businesses, property developers and landlords.

He has a loyal following of clients that extends across generations, with George having assisted them and their families with property and commercial transactional matters and estate planning.

“I have worked with the same clients for so many years that I am now providing advice to their children and in some cases their grandchildren,” George said.

George works with a variety of corporate clients, property developers, property investors, financiers, SMEs and not-for-profit organisations.

“Commercial and property transactions are what my career have been built on,” he said.

“Sales of big business, leases for multi-tenanted commercial premises, preparing and negotiating multi- million-dollar contracts, drafting complex loan facility agreements, these are the matters that are a highlight for me.”

George’s approach to client management is something that stood out to Owner and Managing Director, Sam Roberts.

“At Roberts Legal we have a strong focus on client experience. We know our clients want to be involved in their matter and informed throughout the whole transaction,” Sam said.

“George is well known for his crystal-clear communication, and ability to manage complex issues and transactions, traits that are highly valued by our clients and the Directors at our firm.”

It won’t be all work and no play for George as he continues his career at Roberts Legal.

“I always find time to spend with my family, particularly my granddaughter and I try to never miss a Knights game, not matter how well (or not) they are playing,” George concluded.
