PwC has announced a refreshed leadership team in Newcastle with the upcoming retirements of long-standing Senior Partners John Campion and Darren Turner.

The local practice will be led by Newcastle Partners Caroline Mara, Murray Evans and Angela Higgins, who is to be admitted to the PwC partnership later in the year.

PwC Australia’s Assurance Managing Partner, Matt Graham said Newcastle is a key market for PwC.

“We are excited by the growth in the region and confident that the new leadership team will continue to build on our strong client focus in this important market,” Mike said.

“I’d like to thank John and Darren for their fantastic leadership and all they have done to deliver exceptional value for our clients and grow our Newcastle office to where it is today. I wish them both a rewarding retirement as they continue to pursue their community roles and personal passions in Newcastle.”

According to Newcastle Partner, Caroline Mara there is plenty to be optimistic about in the region.

“There is an air of optimism in Newcastle that I have not felt before, and we are outperforming many other parts of the state and nation in confidence and investment,” Caroline said.

“Property and technology projects already have momentum, and we are excited by the city’s prospects over the next ten years with the renewed investment in health, education, defence and infrastructure. PwC will be working closely with our Newcastle clients to help them make the most of all these opportunities.”

With the changing landscape of the Newcastle market, PwC has also expanded its local scope of services beyond the traditional areas of audit and tax.

According to Caroline, the PwC team in Newcastle are looking forward to what’s ahead.
