Procurement toolkit to help Hunter business

Procurement toolkit to help Hunter business

RDA Hunter has partnered with NSW Trade and Investment, Australian Industry Group, HunterNet, Hunter Business Chamber and AusIndustry to develop the Hunter Region Procurement Toolkit.

The Toolkit has been developed in consultation with Hunter industry and government organisations and will assist local SMEs to diversify, grow and become more resilient. The Kit provides an easy reference for Hunter companies to identify and prepare for new business opportunities.

The Hunter Region Procurement Toolkit was launched yesterday by Dr Gaye Hart AM, Chair Regional Development Australia (RDA) Hunter.

“RDA Hunter is pleased to be a major supporter of this important collaborative initiative which will support economic growth and job creation in the region,” said Dr Hart.

“Hunter industry is competitive and ready for new challenges. The Hunter Strategic Procurement Initiative helps SMEs better compete for local and global opportunities.”

The content of the Hunter Region Procurement Toolkit is part of a broader Hunter Strategic Procurement Initiative, which also includes supply chain and bid writing workshops as well as a procurement masterclass.

Through presentations, discussions and surveys, key government and non-government organisations have highlighted their procurement requirements and processes in the Toolkit with the hope of developing relationships with suppliers within the region and increasing their local spend.

Dr Hart congratulated the regional office of NSW Trade and Investment and the Australian Industry Group on the timeliness and relevance of the Hunter Region Procurement Toolkit and encouraged SMEs to use the Toolkit and to provide feedback.

RDA Hunter

Regional Development Australia (RDA) Hunter is the key economic development organisation in the Hunter region. Led by a Committee of regional business and community representatives, RDA Hunter is supported by federal and state governments.

Established in 2009 they provide independent advice to all levels of government and our stakeholders on priorities for the Hunter's future.

RDA Hunter works to strengthen the Hunter as a competitive and modern metropolitan centre of excellence. It does this by securing funds for regionally significant infrastructure projects, providing effective connectivity between industry, education and the wider region economy and by driving investment to the Hunter region.
