Mullane & Lindsay – Spanning the generations

Building on its 40 years in the Newcastle legal community, Mullane & Lindsay is securing its place in Newcastle’s legal future with the introduction of two new solicitors to its team – Lachlan Page and Katie Thompson.

Both Lachlan and Katie have interests in mediation and other methods of alternative dispute resolution; representing the changing attitudes to the application of law in NSW.

A new published study from Associate Professor Leanne Cutcher from the University of Sydney Business School, has found that the most innovative firms are ones where there is no age focus and the focus is on ‘the best people for the job’.

“With lawyers from Gen Y, Gen X and Baby Boomers, Mullane & Lindsay is fortunate to have a cross-section of employees spanning all generations and each group contributes differently to the growth, innovation and expertise of the firm,”  Director, Robert Lindsay, said.

Lachlan’s background is as a commercial lawyer. He has experience in commercial litigation, sales, purchases and leases, commercial agreements, contract disputes, debt collection, franchising and defamation.

“I am excited to join one of the premier Newcastle based law firms and I look forward to advising and acting for clients whether it be protecting their commercial interests and guiding them through transactions or ensuring that their rights are protected through civil litigation or mediation,” Lachlan said.

Katie is a recent graduate of the University of Newcastle Law School, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Diploma of Legal Practice in 2015. Katie’s background and interests are in working within dispute resolution and litigation.
