One of the biggest conference, wedding and function centres in Port Stephens, Broughtons at the bay, officially opened last week, located on the top floor of the award-winning d’Albora Marinas in Nelson Bay.
The stylish, state-of-the-art facility has undergone a $300,000 refurbishment which saw the former Vues at the Bay restaurant transformed into a multi-purpose corporate, social and entertainment centre in the heart of Port Stephens.
Owned by d’Albora Marinas and named after the biggest island off NSW ‚Äì Broughton Island ‚Äì just off the coast of Port Stephens, Broughtons at the bay accommodates 240 seated and 300 standing guests, with reduced spaces available for smaller groups. The centre also comes with a new ‘Waterscape’ floating pontoon at the marina below for outdoor cocktail parties for up to 80 people as well as a luxury penthouse apartment.
“You can’t beat the waterside, dress-circle location of Broughtons at the bay,” d’Albora Marinas Events manager, Deborah Stretton, said.
“The panorama is inspiring but yes, it could distract some guests, so speakers will need to offer compelling presentations to compete with the view!”
Deborah commented there were many bookings and inquiries already, with the first conference to be held at the facility on 31 October 2015 for 80 people.
“Broughtons at the bay is also a short stroll to the beach and many accommodation properties. And from the marina there are many leisure, soft adventure and team-building activities available such as harbour cruises, parasailing, jetboating, sailing, jetskiing, fishing, parasailing and stand-up paddleboarding . We have built strong partnerships with local accommodation and activity operators in Port Stephens and as a result, we can offer clients complete stay and play packages for their conferences, celebrations or events.”
Destination Port Stephens CEO, Janelle Gardner, said the opening of Broughtons at the bay significantly enhanced the appeal of the region for conferences, weddings and other events.
“This new, first class facility will provide happy and rewarding memories for many guests and provide a major boost to the local visitor economy,” Janelle said.
