NBN Newsreader, Natasha Beyersdorf will be one of the key speakers to share her story with local business women at a seminar designed to help women to grow in their personal and professional lives.
The annual, women only, Hunter Growth Seminar, is on for a fifth year at a new venue, Marina Views, Wickham, on September 5.
The seminar is the brainchild of Hunter entrepreneur, mentor, author, speaker and chief passion officer of Passionate People Institute, Shivani Gupta, in partnership with other Hunter business women.
Natasha headlines a number of other local business people who have an inspirational story to tell or have tips to help women to realise their dreams.
Shivani said the Growth Seminar fills a gap for a very affordable, one day seminar that covers the seven key areas of life – work, family, health, money, mind, friends and spirit,” Shivani said.
“Women will have the opportunity to learn from each other and open their minds to passion and opportunity in a positive, fun way.”
Natasha hails from Armidale where she got her start in media. From radio she moved to television where she has worked as a journalist, news editor, chief of staff and newsreader. After a year working in public relations and fundraising she went back to television and now fronts the evening weekday news for NBN Television as well as reporting and compiling special presentations. Outside of work, Natasha supports many charities and is busy chasing after her two children.
Other speakers include: businessman and restauranteur, Garth Ashford; Partner at Hamilton Taggart Business Advisors and Founder of Gen Collective, Mel Hamilton; Partner at Hicksons Lawyers, Jennifer Parkes; Lawyer and Principal of Catherine Henry Lawyers, Catherine Henry; and CEO of Moroba Aged Care, Viv Allanson.
Owner of the Yoga Loft, Cveta Jovanoska will run a yoga session. Women will also learn about the benefits of massage and receive free neck and shoulder massages from local endota spa therapists. There will be a session on dressing for success affordably by stylist and Lifeline Retail Manager Jason Fox.
Lord Mayor of Newcastle, Cr Nuatali Nelmes, will open the seminar and give insights into life for women in politics.
Part of the proceeds will go to global charity Barefoot College which trains grandmothers in villages in 90 countries in solar technology to help bring light, power and water to their communities as well as night schools for girls in rural India.
