When it comes to being human, Michelle Crawford isn’t afraid to share the good, the bad and the ugly.
A Newcastle-based Speaker, Chief Conversationalist and now Author, Michelle has recently released her new book titled after her business, Being More Human.
The book challenges business professionals, leaders and humans to leave their comfort zone, be a better version of themselves, transform their businesses and influence their world.
Michelle said the book’s purpose is to empower businesses to stop looking at figures and start focusing on the human beings sitting in chairs within workplaces. Her belief is that when businesses start taking care of their people, the rest will take care of itself.
“This book is about becoming more human; in its entirety. It is a journey into human behaviour that teaches and empowers readers to be more human, in the workplace, at home, and within yourself,” Michelle said.
“I tell numerous stories from my own life to demonstrate four different mindsets – the sufferer, survivor, driver and the thriver. There are advantages, challenges, behaviours and language that go with each mindset.
“If you think about it, your mindset is the only thing that goes across all of the different areas of your life and has the most impact on each area, so it makes sense to understand it.”
Michelle has over 20 years of experience providing guidance, leadership development, recruitment support and strengthening the culture in organisations across 20 industries.
Through her experiences as a business and HR leader, Michelle has learned one truth – modern businesses are losing their humanity.
After seeing the world and meeting people from all walks of life, Michelle chose to dedicate her life to helping businesses in Australia to become more human in the way they operate and their culture.
Michelle has brought a team of human resource and organisational development experts together at Being More Human to increase humanity in the workplace through kindness, psychological consulting and deep, transformational change for organisations, teams and individuals.
“My life purpose is about having a massive social impact, so writing the book is a great way to upscale the impact I can by teaching others to be more human in their dealings,” Michelle said.
“As a special offer, I’m running a competition for the person who shares the link to my book the most (they have to be my Facebook friend). I will take the top ten people out for dinner.”
