Lake Macquarie Business Awards celebrate pursuit of excellence

The Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards are striving to highlight and celebrate the pursuit of business excellence and achievement, with nominations for the annual awards opening today.

Entries for the 2016 Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards opened on Friday, 11 March 2016.

The Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards are an initiative of the Business Growth Centre. The aim of the Awards is to recognise businesses operating within the City of Lake Macquarie who provide exemplary products, services and so much more.

Business Growth Centre Manager, Brett Gleeson, believes entering the 2016 Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards is a true indication of a businesses’ ongoing effort to improve and grow.

“The Awards will not only give businesses the opportunity to profile themselves and their achievements, but will also give them the opportunity to reflect upon their business practices and processes,” Brett said. “The entry process can assist business owners with planning for a positive future and can help them identify areas of growth and improvement.”

“Lake Macquarie businesses of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to enter online and take advantage of this opportunity to tell their story, share their passion and promote their business.”

The launch of the awards formed part of the presentations at the Lake Macquarie Business Network breakfast yesertday morning (Friday, 11 March 2016).

“The Lake Macquarie Business Network provided the perfect occasion to launch the Awards. With many of the supporting businesses and past winners in attendance, we couldn’t think of a better opportunity to introduce the 2016 sponsors and acknowledge the hard working business men and women of Lake Macquarie who continue to strive for excellence.”

The awards will feature 13 award categories and three major awards. The award categories focus on a range of business functionalities including branding and marketing, business systems, workforce training and development, customer service, innovation, entrepreneurship, retail practices, workplace health and safety and sustainability.

The three major awards acknowledge the contribution of an individual or business to the Lake Macquarie community.

Entries will close on Friday, 20 May 2016, with winners announced at the Awards Gala Dinner, which will be held on Saturday, 23 July 2016 at Belmont 16s.

To enter the 2016 Awards, businesses must be based in or have an operation in the Lake Macquarie LGA.
