Kari Armitage appointed Vice Chair of the HunterNet Board

Managing Director of Quarry Mining, Kari Armitage, has been appointed the new Vice Chair for HunterNet Co-Operative’s Board.

Kari joins seven other Directors on the HunterNet Board, which is chaired by Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director for Boleh Consulting, Steven Tolley.

Steven said Kari’s leadership achievements and community contribution has led to her appointment.

“Kari’s thoughtfulness, passion for manufacturing, dedication to customer service, delivering value and her humility are of some of the trademarks of why Kari and her business, Quarry Mining, are so successful,” Steven said.

Quarry Mining today employs more than 40 tradespeople, technical representatives and operations and support staff across Newcastle, Sydney and Mackay.

The company has grown from a straight on-seller to a manufacturing facility with purpose built premises that house 11 multi-tasking CNC machines and robotic technologies.

“Kari shares the HunterNet vision for our region to be a leading force in today’s global market as we collaborate to drive down the cost of doing business and make our region even more competitive,” Steven said.

“In my opinion, this is a well-deserved appointment for Kari.”

Beyond Kari’s professional achievements, Kari has made an active contribution to the Hunter community by supporting a number of local community charities and projects, including Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, the Books in Homes program and the Cancer Council.

Kari said she is thrilled with the new appointment.

“I am constantly motivated by the meaningful contribution that HunterNet generates for our manufacturing community and the business-to-business opportunities they foster that continuously pivot our region towards ongoing success and excellence,” Kari said.

“To say that I feel privileged for my new appointment as Vice Chair of HunterNet would be an understatement.

HunterNet is a network of manufacturing, engineering and specialist service companies located in the Hunter and Central Coast regions of NSW.
