JSA starts 2014 with continued expansion

A Hunter-based financial services firm has leaped out of the blocks in the New Year with new staff, the establishment of a new division and the expansion of another division into Sydney.

This month JSA Group appointed Dean Grozdanis as business development manager to lead the introduction of a new Corporate Super Division. Dean is the fifth new member to join JSA Group in the past two months taking the total number of staff to over 40.

The other new recruits are:

  • David Blackman, national business development manager of the Novated Leasing and Finance Division
  • Renee Visscher, personal assistant to general manager Mark Amos
  • Leanne Dowey, accountant, Accounting and Tax Division
  • Todd Marshall, trainee accountant, Accounting and Tax Division.

Newcastle Born and raised, Dean said the Corporate Super Division would provide a specialist service with dedicated staff to support business in the Hunter. The Division will help businesses, generally with 20 or more employees, with organisation-wide superannuation reviews and can also act as a corporate super manager.

“This new service will help both employers and employees get the most from their Super by having it managed by an independent expert,” Dean said.

“Legislative changes are making Super management more complex but we can help organisations reduce the administrative burden, find efficiencies and offer great flexibility in Super for employees without needing a specialist in house, staff member.”

David Blackman, who has lived and played Rugby in the area, will work from both Newcastle and Sydney as he takes JSA's expertise to the Sydney market. The Division formerly known as Salary Packaging specialises in the complex area of novated leasing and equipment finance.

The firm's founder and owner, Jeff Shakespeare, welcomed the new team members saying they were vital to assist the continued growing demand for JSA services. Last year the firm established a new Property Services Division.

“JSA is going from strength to strength as more people and businesses recognise the need to have experts help them to manage and plan their financial future,” Jeff said.

“We are taking on local young people and the very best experts to offer our clients the very best advice.”

Dean has over 10 years experience in corporate superannuation having worked in both the banking and industry funds sectors. David has 15 years experience in the banking and finance industry and has spent the last three years in the fleet industry.  Renee Visscher has 18 years experience in administration and office support roles with the past nine of those at one of the 'Big 4' accounting firms.

JSA Group has been operating for more than 38 years. It provides financial planning, tax and accounting services, mortgages and finance, corporate superannuation, as well as property, novated leasing and equipment finance services. The firm has offices in Honeysuckle and Charlestown.
