Hunter Young Professionals (HYP) is asking if you’ve got what it takes to make it to the top of your profession or organisation.
In conjunction with the University of Newcastle (UoN) the HYP will present their Gold Partner Event for 2014 at the Grand Bella Vista. UoN has held the exclusive position of HYP Gold Partner since July 2013 and offers valuable support and resources to HYP members, many of whom are UoN Alumni.
UoN is ranked in the top three per cent of universities in the world, and was recently ranked number one in Australia by the Times Higher Education’s top 100 universities under 50 years of age in the world. The HYP Event will bring together UoN Alumnus Anne Long, CEO of the Greater Charitable Foundation and Michelle McPherson, CFO of nib Health Funds to discuss life at the top of the corporate ladder and the journey that got them there.
Anne Long has had a successful and diverse career in the not-for-profit sector, responsible for building corporate partnerships with Vodafone, PwC and Qantas amongst others to benefit charitable organisations. In her current role as Chief Executive Officer, Anne is responsible for all aspects of operational and strategic management of the Greater Charitable Foundation, allocating over $4 million dollars to 12 different community partners.
As Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of nib Health Funds, Michelle McPherson’s wide-ranging responsibilities across the nib Group include financial reporting, business intelligence, people and development, legal, risk and governance, corporate affairs and investor relations, project management, procurement and asset management.
HYP hosts an array of events annually to engage young people in the local business environment through professional and social networking opportunities which assist in their development as the leaders of tomorrow.
