Hunter Property Manager to Chair Real Estate Institute committee

Michelle McLean, Senior Property Manager at Leah Jay, has been appointed Chair of the Property Management Chapter at the Real Estate Institute (REINSW).

Michelle has served as a committee member of the Chapter for the past 14 years, and will now take over as Chair for the next two years.

Michelle’s new role follows on from Leah Jay’s most successful year at the REINSW’s Awards for Excellence, where the company won two property management accolades and a corporate support award.

Michelle’s appointment support’s Leah Jay’s position as a market leader in property management within the Hunter region. The company’s focus on continuous improvement and property management expertise will be utilised by Michelle in her role as Chair.

Operations Manager at Leah Jay, Cassandra Lantry said Michelle’s experience in the industry and REINSW means she is ready to take on the challenge.

“Michelle has been a dedicated member of the Property Management Chapter for many years, so she is ready for this new challenge,” Cassandra said.

“We are very proud that Michelle is representing Leah Jay, and we know she will bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and value to her new leadership position in the committee.”

REINSW is the peak body for the real estate industry in New South Wales. It’s Property Management Chapter aims to foster the exchange of practice knowledge amongst members.

The key role of the Property Management Chapter Chair is to lead the committee towards continuous improvement for the scope of practice. The position is pivotal in steering the committee on important matters such as industry issues and reviewing changes to legislation, including noting where lobbying for enhancements to the relevant acts is needed.

As Chair, Michelle will assist in creating outcomes from committee discussions and help drive decisions on matters that can positively impact the property management industry in NSW.

Michelle joined Leah Jay in May 2016. She leads the team at Belmont and works closely with other Senior Property Managers across the business.
