A husband and wife business team, Paul and Paula Ashcroft, have made the sea change from the New England to Lake Macquarie after selling their successful Tamworth real estate business.
The couple will now work as one team for PRDnationwide Newcastle & Lake Macquarie.
Paul has worked in the real estate industry for 35 years. He has extensive experience in residential subdivisions, project management and has acted as an auctioneer. Paula has been in the industry for 15 years, specialising in residential sales. She worked for large firms in Australia and the UK before that.
In 2009 they established Ashcroft Property in Tamworth, during tough times in the industry. In just four years it grew to be the second largest land bank agency in the New England Northwest Region.
Paul said the move to the Hunter allowed them to be closer to family and embark on an exciting new opportunity.
The couple has ties to the region and has visited many times. Their daughter studied at the University of Newcastle. They worked with many Newcastle based developers involved in Tamworth projects.
Paul said the secret to their successful business partnership and marriage was the fact that they love each other’s company and respect and value each others’ differences.
“We see our team as a real plus for our clients because they get a male and female perspective as well as the perspective of two parents and business people,” he said.
“We are genuinely interested in people, listen to what people want and we understand the importance of long term relationships.”
Paula agreed that mutual respect and complementary skills allowed her and Paul to live and work together. She said empathy, hard work and attention to detail are the keys to their sales success for clients.
“We are here to help our clients so we give them time and support rather than high pressure,” she said.
