Early last year, Hunter Entrepreneur, Jodi O’Connor of the creative design studio, Ronnoco launched a new business – Ask Jo.

After completing the Rippler Innovation Program run by Christina Gerakiteys of Ideation at Work, Jo said there was a need to provide small businesses and start-ups with foundation packages that provide the basic essentials to kick-start their brand identity and connect them with their audience. Thus Ask Jo was created.

“We were receiving many enquiries at Ronnoco for just a logo and business card rather than the full brand development service that we were offering, so I developed the idea of a streamlined service offering easy-to-understand packages at affordable upfront prices,” Jo said.

“Whichever Ask Jo package you choose, the process is simple. Packages start from a logo and business card up to a basic website with domain and email set-up, but it doesn’t have to end there.

“I love guiding and helping businesses establish a firm foundation for their brand and offering advice to develop further as their business evolves.”

The strong relationship established with the Newcastle Business Centre and extensive local networking have provided plenty of opportunities to meet small businesses and start-ups looking for a high level but cost effective service.

“The response to Ask Jo has been fantastic and I’m looking forward to developing the venture further over the next 12 months, with package add-ons including photography, video and also website options for specific industries.”

Jo was born and bred in the Hunter Valley and began her career in graphic design, working first as a Designer and as then as an Art Director for Cambridge Press offset printers. Jo also spent 10 years in London, where she worked for a major magazine publisher and added management, business analytics, workflow consultation and software training to her arsenal.
