AECOM announces new Team Leader

Integrated infrastructure firm AECOM has welcomed Associate Director Mark Ferfolja back to their Newcastle office to lead their Buildings & Places group.

Mark joins a team of over 100 AECOM professionals across offices in Warabrook and Singleton, and returns after three years in Christchurch assisting with the post-earthquake rebuild of the city.

Following his time in New Zealand Mark is now coming home to the Hunter, replacing Steven Agnew who is returning to Scotland after 10 years’ service with AECOM.

AECOM’s Hunter Area Manager Ian Richardson said Mark brings genuine energy and enthusiasm to the office and extensive experience in structural engineering.

“Mark ties together a range of specialist services across his team and the broader 100 person Hunter business,” Ian said.

“Mark’s team is focused on providing a range of building engineering services including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and sustainability design. I am confident that through Mark’s leadership, the team will continue to meet the growing needs of the Newcastle market by leveraging the integrated offering that only AECOM can provide.”

Reflecting on his return after nearly five years Mark said he was delighted to be back in the Hunter where he started his career.

“I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with the community and delivering on some exciting projects,” Mark said. “It’s great to see the renewed vibrancy of the city and be part of a team that will play a key role in shaping its future.”
