Workshops support people to thrive at work

Workshops support people to thrive at work

SafetyWorks Group Workplace Psychologist, Traci Carse is delivering the first of three workshops on mental health in the workplace on 12 September, 2017.

Healthy Heads at Work is a three part workshop series focusing on three areas to guide organisations through a structural, practical and integrated process to proactively managing the psychosocial work environment and providing support that allows staff to thrive and perform at their peak.

Traci said the workshops are designed to address the need for more support around mental health issues in the workplace.

“Nearly 45% of Australians experience mental illness at some point in their life and many of these people are in the working population, spending approximately 60% of their waking time in the workplace,” Traci said.

“In Australia, organisations are losing $10.9 billion in productivity per year and I think we all want to create a productive, engaged and resilient workforce but sometimes struggle to know exactly where to start.

“We are really looking forward to delivering the series and continuing to work with organisations to develop proactive and preventive frameworks to support mental health in the workplace.”

SafetyWorks work with many of Australia’s leading companies, to support them in proactively managing their health, safety and wellbeing culture. One such organisation SafetyWorks has recently been working with is Ronald McDonald House Charities, helping them to manage the psychosocial work environment.

General Manager of Business and Governance, Adam Blatch from Ronald McDonald House Charities said the sessions have been helpful for the business.

“Traci presented an amazing session on mental health in the workplace,” Adam said.

“She created meaningful and practical takeaways for our attendees who work in a highly emotive and stressful environment.”

The workshops will be held in Newcastle West.
