Locally-owned and family-run WHO Printing are firm supporters of working towards creating a sustainable future and as part of this they support the NSW/ACT Young Achiever Awards.

Each year the NSW/ACT Young Achiever Awards acknowledge, encourage and promote the positive achievements of young people.

WHO Printing Director, Helen Olge said she was delighted when invited to participate in the inaugural Awards last year as a category sponsor and judge and again for 2016.

“Through this involvement to support youth in the community with the contributions that they are making and in showing leadership towards a sustainable future for all generations I have pledged WHO Printing’s ongoing support for the awards into the future.,” Helen said.

“It was my pleasure to announce Grace Liley as the winner of the 2016 WHO Printing Environment and Sustainability.”

“The nominated young achievers demonstrated initiatives in the efficient use of the environment, water, resources, energy, better waste management and recycling practices and are leaders in the enhancement of the environment and encourage community action. “

Grace won the award from a strong field of nominees and was one of seven category winners announced on Friday, 1 April 2016 at the Gala Awards night held. She was later announced as the overall 2016 NSW/ACT Young Achiever of the Year, chosen from seven category winners.

Grace is the NSW Coordinator for the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, volunteering up to three days and two nights each week. During 2015, she coordinated a program called ‘Youth Decide’, facilitating large groups of volunteers to educate 5,000 school students on sustainability and climate change. Grace was also manager of the youth section for Sydney’s People’s Climate March, constituting a crowd of 45,000. Sponsorship of the award is part of WHO Printing’s ongoing commitment to the environment.

As a family owned company WHO is dedicated to creating a sustainable future for generations to come through environmentally responsible practices and processes. Along with the recycling of materials used in the printing process and constant evaluation of sustainable business practices, WHO have recently installed an 80Kw solar system on the roof of their factory in Mayfield West that reduced their power consumption by 30%. This installation goes a long way to achieve their goal of environmental sustainability.
