Lake Macquarie gym, Urban Base Fitness, has joined a growing chorus of businesses innovating in the face of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
Urban Base Fitness has launched a new online platform to deliver individualised training for not only aspiring athletes but also those just looking to maintain their fitness and strength through these challenging times.
Available through a mobile application, Managing Director Erin Wilson said UBF ONLINE aimed to deliver the same high-quality product available to those who regularly attended face-to-face sessions.
“Our new offering aims to mirror the standard of training we deliver in person at Urban Base Fitness,” Wilson said.
“We’re lucky to have highly trained and qualified staff who are committed to our clients, and pride themselves on their professionalism and excellence in the field.
“My staff and I want to be able to utilise our expertise to make a difference where we can. We may have been forced to close our doors, but we won’t stop being a part of the lives of our clients.”
Based at Gateshead, Urban Base Fitness has been offering science-based strength and conditioning for athletes and top-quality group and personal training for more than five years, with the inclusion of an online offering the latest addition to the business.
“The mobile app has a number of features that enable users to keep themselves accountable,” she said.
“They’re able to track body weight, weights lifted, and the time taken to complete an exercise. They’re also able to upload videos and photos of their exercises so our trainers can provide feedback.”
UBF ONLINE works as a subscription service which hosts the client’s details, baseline measurements and training schedule.
“Our online product has a base offering for those looking for an affordable option that still follows quality programming methods and design,” Erin said.
“We also offer a plus membership, which includes online contact with a trainer. It also allows for specific programming to be developed for the client.”
When it comes to the difference between UBF ONLINE and other comparable products, Wilson believes the individualisation and attention to detail sets it well above others.
“Some clients I have express motivation as an issue and want sessions short enough that they are more likely to adhere and from habits, while other more experienced athletes with very specific goals require programs which allow them to train more frequently and with more intensity.”
“Most people understand the importance of regular exercise for your physical and mental wellbeing, and the need to continue this throughout the current set of circumstances,” Erin concluded.
