BeLLCORP Accountants are embracing the challenges of the evolving business and economic landscape.
Advances in technology and changes in public policy have created new opportunities, particularly in the ‘For Purpose’ sector which encompasses charities, education providers, clubs, aged care and NDIS services.
In recognition of these developments, they have appointed a new member to the team; CPA qualified finance professional, Bernadette Smyth.
Bernadette is a keen philanthropist and accounting disruptor with over 15 years’ experience across public practice, commercial and charitable organisations.
Her career has seen her work in Newcastle, Sydney and London and across different disciplines.
Bernadette joins BeLLCORP as the Manager of their new ‘Profit For Purpose’ offering, which provides an affordable consulting service to what were historically labelled not-for-profit organisations.
“It’s time we changed the language we use to describe organisations who exist to serve a purpose. ‘Not-for-profit’ is a limiting term which conveys a false message. All organisations must make a profit in order to exist. In the ‘For Purpose’ sector, profit is reinvested into achieving societal outcomes, ” Ms. Smyth said of the name ‘Profit For Purpose’.
Bernadette will also lead BeLLCORP’s new CFO Service which provides on-demand access to a CFO for organisations who are looking to access specialised expertise when required.
“This is an exciting time for BeLLCORP, and we are thrilled to welcome Bernadette to the team,” Director Jeff Bell said.
“We are especially pleased to be able to offer our expertise, under Bernadette’s stewardship, to the Profit For Purpose sector to help them achieve incredible impact.”
