A total of $20,000 has been given to local charities thanks to a combined donation campaign between two local real estate agencies, PRD Presence and LJ Hooker Belmont.
Ten local charities have been selected as part of the Christmas in July Giving Campaign, with each organisation receiving $2,000 each.
PRD Presence has selected Got Ya Back Sista, Soul Café, Stronger Together for Spinal, Children’s Cancer Institute and the RSPCA.
LJ Hooker Belmont picked Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Big Hug Box, The Men’s Shed Belmont, Jenny’s Place and St Vincent De Paul.
PRD Presence Managing Director, Mark Kentwell said his heart has been filled with joy ever since he joined the team to present the giant novelty cheques.
“All of us at PRD live and work in our local communities and it’s been so rewarding to be able to give something back to those who are really in need locally, whether it be those who are homeless, to those fleeing domestic violence or suffering from illness, right through to our furry friends who also need assistance,” Mark said.
The PRD team did a vote to choose the organisations they’d be donating money to.
LJ Hooker Belmont and PRD Presence have also collaborated on projects this year including the joint listing and sale of Paul ‘The Chief’ Harragon and his family’s 5-bedroom home in Dudley, which broke a new record for Lake Macquarie at $7 million in March.
PRD’s Chasse Ede had the honour of delivering the $2,000 giant cheques to all of their chosen charities and he said it’s been a highlight of his real estate career to be able to be involved.
“To see the smiles on the faces of the recipients, it’s been such an honour to be in a position to be a part of giving something back to my community,” Chasse said.
Team Ede was behind the concept of the campaign, which is made up of Chasse Ede, Layla Milligan, Nathan Hunter and Craig and Belinda Rosevear.
