Expanding real estate business PRDnationwide Newcastle and Lake Macquarie officially opened its new and larger CBD office in the Watt Street Commercial building last week.
The agency has secured the expansive top floor of the striking building which recently underwent a $12 million revamp at the hands of developer and owner Keith Stronach.
More than 40 staff from PRD’s sales team and the property management division, SafeHands, have moved into the building after four years at the agency’s previous addresses in Brown Street (PRD) and Perkins Street (SafeHands).
PRDnationwide Newcastle and Lake Macquarie managing director Mark Kentwell said the new headquarters gave the company space for future expansion with room to accommodate 65 personnel.
“There is room for additional sales, property management and support staff as the team expands,” Mark said.
“The new office represents the physical merging of our sales and property management operations and will therefore create greater cohesion between our divisions.”
“It is a modern, fresh space that is conducive to creating a productive and pleasant working environment for PRD Newcastle’s growing workforce.
“We have a big chill-out zone where staff can cook up a full meal in the chef’s kitchen, listen to music, chat, and watch the surfers, whales and dolphins on their lunch breaks.”
“They can also train or swim at the beach at lunch and use our shower and locker room facilities afterwards. ”
PRD Newcastle’s new 540sqm space represents an upsize from their 220sqm Brown Street location and 200sqm Perkins Street premises.
Watt Street Commercial is close to the company’s new projects base, Newcastle New Projects, which opened on Hunter Street recently.
“There is a lot happening at this end of town and we’re really excited to be in the heart of the action,” Mark said.
