nib marketing specialist announced recipient of HunterNet scholarship

This year’s Kristen Keegan Future Leaders Scholarship has been awarded to Marketing Automation Specialist at nib Health Funds, Bridget Andersen.

The Kristen Keegan Future Leaders Scholarship is aimed at honouring Kristen’s legacy as a leader in the Hunter region. The scholarship covers the tuition costs for one participant as part of the HunterNet Future Leaders Program 2019.

The assessment panel, comprised of CEO of HunterNet Tony Cade, Future Leaders Program Director Jacqui Warren and Chairman of the Future Leaders Committee Tim Blakemore, received several high calibre applications from young leaders across the Hunter.

The assessment panel said it is pleased to announce that Bridget Andersen is the 2019 Kristen Keegan Future Leaders Scholarship recipient.

“Since launching the scholarship back in 2017, we have seen a consistent stream of high calibre applicants and this year was no exception. We congratulate Bridget on her successful application and look forward to following her progress throughout the Future Leaders Program,” the panel said.

Bridget’s application detailed her aspirations to become a digital marketing industry leader, identifying the potential of the Hunter region as a capital of innovation and technology advancements. She has a proven track record of commitment to the region through her work with Dementia Australia and animal rescue groups.

Bridget said she is proud to have been awarded the Kristen Keegan Future Leaders Scholarship.

“The scholarship is incredibly meaningful to me as I had the opportunity to meet Kristen at Hunter Business Chamber events, and have since considered her an inspirational role model for leadership in the Hunter Region,” Bridget said.

“I’m really excited to start my leadership journey with HunterNet and the Future Leaders Program and hopefully one day to become a leader in the Hunter. I’ve always considered Newcastle and the Hunter as my home, and I’m passionate about working to position the region as a leader in innovation.”

Bridget has a Bachelor of Communication from the University of Newcastle and has recently enrolled in a Master of Business Administration and Master of Marketing.

Bridget joined the HunterNet Future Leaders Program along with 22 other young leaders on Thursday 4 April 2019 for the program launch. The program will cover 12 leadership topics, followed by a major project where participants will be mentored by industry leaders and present to a panel of esteemed judges later this year.
