In a celebratory evening at The Star Sydney, Daracon Group emerged victorious in the $10M – $30M project value category, sponsored by Komatsu, at the 2024 CCF NSW Earth Awards for the Newcastle Ocean Baths.
This achievement underscores Daracon’s commitment to shaping the future, marking a significant milestone in their 40th year of operation.
The Civil Contractors Federation New South Wales Earth Awards celebrate the pinnacle of project delivery excellence, emphasising construction management, innovation, people development, quality, safety, environmental management, and stakeholder engagement.
The awards gala on 14 June , 2024, brought together industry leaders and recognised the most exemplary projects in civil construction.
In the $10M – $30M category, which was the biggest category of the night, featuring seven finalists, Daracon’s revitalisation of the Newcastle Ocean Baths stood out among the competition.
This project was a blend of modern construction techniques and heritage preservation, breathing new life into the historic baths. The comprehensive overhaul not only revitalised a beloved community landmark but also set a new standard for coastal construction practices. The meticulous attention to detail and commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of the site were key factors in Daracon’s victory.
Daracon’s Alexender Massey also took out the Project Manager over $2M category at the 2023 CCF People Awards, for his exceptional project management skills on this project.
Daracon Group Managing Director, Jon Mingay commented on the commitment of his team.
