Newcastle Airport has appointed Burcak Sezer as Executive General Manager in Marketing and Communications.
The recent appointment sees a return to Newcastle for Burcak, who completed her Marketing degree at The University of Newcastle two decades ago.
Since that time, Burcak has worked across well-known consumer brands including Schick, Kleenex and Huggies, leading teams in global companies in Australia, Europe and most recently in Asia Pacific.
Newcastle Airport CEO, Dr Peter Cock said that Burcak brings a wealth of experience in business and leadership, has a fantastic track record of driving successful campaigns and initiatives to impact business growth.
“I’m looking forward to partnering with Burcak to achieve our marketing goals,” Peter said.
“Burcak’s appointment ensures the team at Newcastle Airport are well supported to deliver on our vision of being the airport our region deserves.
“Our Executive team will also benefit greatly from her diverse experience and strong alignment with our values.”
Burcak says she’s thrilled to be returning to Newcastle once more, and in particular to work for an organisation that’s crucial to the region.
“It’s great timing following the announcement of the Federal funding for the runway and terminal upgrade, and with new domestic and international routes on the doorstep,” Burcak said.
“It’s a fantastic boon for the region and its travellers. Even now, it has much more to offer than people realise.
“I’m really looking forward to being part of the team at Newcastle Airport and seeing more people from the Hunter use their airport. We’re all excited about welcoming growing numbers from other parts of Australia and the rest of the world.”
