This Mother’s Day is going to look a little different than previous years, but the Hunter Melanoma Foundation (HMF) are working to make sure that it’s not any less special for the mums in our region.
HMF has created a gift basket that they hope will give back to mums in many more ways than the obvious.
HMF Executive Officer, Claudia Tolhurst, said that the Foundation has created the 2020 HMF gift baskets with the support of local organisations.
“Hunter Melanoma Foundation understands the challenges everyone is currently facing and that giving to charities is probably well down the list of priorities,” Claudia said.
“That being said, the Foundation’s work continues to provide support to people who are living with melanoma as well as being committed to to educating people around checking and protecting against the deadly disease.
“Our role as a not-for-profit during these unprecedented times is to bolster community spirit and support local businesses where we can,” Claudia said.
The HMF Mothers’ Day Gift Packs include a range of goodies including bottle of either Moscato, Reserve Chardonnay or Merlot from Gemelli Estate, polycarbonate wine glasses or range of HMF merchandise.
The aim is to still raise a few dollars for the Foundation whilst still providing a thoughtful gift for local mums this Mother’s Day.
“We want to help put a smile on each mother who receives a gift pack and recognise the wonderful community we have in the Hunter, any money raised is just a bonus,” she said.
Claudia is the only employee of HMF and will personally deliver each order for free on the Friday before Mother’s Day.
People who are interested in buying one of HMF’s gift packs are encouraged to visit their Facebook page.
Initially established in 1986, HMF helps to prevent and support education, awareness, research and the treatment of melanoma cancer.
