Moray & Agnew Newcastle has welcomed Special Counsel, Ashley Cooper back to its Construction & Projects team.
A skilled Lawyer with ten years’ experience, Ashley previously worked in Moray & Agnew’s Construction & Projects team for five years, before moving to an in-house legal counsel role in one of Australia’s leading logistics and supply chain companies in 2016.
Ashley practices in construction and commercial law, principally with a focus on construction contracts, security of payment legislation, and commercial disputes.
He advises construction sector contractors, principals and other professionals on issues involving risk allocation, contract interpretation and administration, security of payment, and claims management.
Ashley’s career also includes 10 years as a consulting engineer and project manager in the geotechnical, contaminated land, and civil infrastructure disciplines at global engineering firm WSP.
“I’m excited to return to the Moray & Agnew team. I’m looking forward to working with fantastic clients on interesting and complex construction and infrastructure projects,” Ashley said.

Ashley has a Bachelor of Laws from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental) from the University of Newcastle.
