Madelaine McCullum has been promoted to Partner in Moray & Agnew’s Insurance group in Newcastle.
Specialising in compulsory third party claims, workers compensation and public liability law, Madelaine provides insight and skills that are an invaluable asset to the Moray & Agnew team.
Madelaine’s promotion means that Moray & Agnew’s 18-person strong Newcastle partnership team now has a 50:50 gender balance.
In response to the promotion, Madelaine said was excited to continue her work with clients in a new challenging role.
“I’m thrilled to continue working with my fantastic clients and colleagues, while having the opportunity to contribute to the leadership of our Newcastle office,” she said.
“We’re going from strength to strength and I’m proud to be a part of that.”
Madelaine’s promotion is reflective of the firm’s commitment to the advancement of women in the legal industry.
At Moray & Agnew all of its senior promotions in Newcastle over the last four years, and 85 per cent of senior promotions in the last seven years, have been female.
Moray & Agnew chooses and retains the most talented and suitable people for its
team. Merit-based promotions such as Madelaine’s reflect Moray & Agnew’s strategic focus on organic growth, supported by appropriate lateral hire and acquisition.
Newcastle Managing Partner, Sean O’Sullivan, said the promotion is well deserved and a great way to start the new financial year.
“Since joining us six years ago, Madelaine has consistently demonstrated that she’s a highly skilled and dedicated insurance lawyer,” Sean said.
“Yet, like all our people, she goes above and beyond for our clients. It’s with this client-first ethos embedded across our team that we’ve been able to help our clients navigate the unprecedented circumstances brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Over 100 talented people work in Moray & Agnew’s Newcastle office, providing private and public sector clients with insurance, commercial and employment legal advice.
Madelaine is one of 16 promotions from 1 July in Moray & Agnew’s offices around the country, including five new partners.
Sean O’Sullivan has previously been awarded individual Hunter Diversity Champion at the Hunter Diversity Awards, an initiative of the Equal Futures Project.
