Moray & Agnew caps off a successful year with senior promotions

Moray & Agnew’s Newcastle team has promoted four senior lawyers at the start of the financial year:

  • Erin Woodward is promoted to Partner
  • Bryce Crampton and Erica Walter are promoted to Senior Associate, and
  • Johanna Ellem is promoted to Associate.

They join two other promotions from earlier in 2025: Jackson Clarence and Joshu Murgatroyd were promoted to Senior Associate from 1 January.

Erin is a highly regarded senior lawyer in the Hunter and the Mid North Coast. She brings a wealth of expertise and proven track record from over 20 years in personal injury law, having worked exclusively in this area. Erin’s current practice covers motor accident claims but her background includes workers’ compensation, public liability, and medical negligence, which gives her a broad set of experiences to draw from. She has been a Law Society of NSW Accredited Specialist in personal injury law for close to 15 years and has appeared before all relevant NSW and national courts and tribunals.

Moray & Agnew’s National and NSW Managing Partner, Geoff Connellan, said, “Erin’s commitment to delivering outstanding legal services shines through everything she does. Her deep client focus and collaborative approach have made a real impact since she joined us five years ago. Recognising Erin’s well-deserved promotion to Partner – alongside Bryce, Erica, Jackson, Joshua and Johanna’s promotions – is a proud moment for our NSW team and a great way to close out another strong year.”

Erin said, “I’m excited to take this next step in my career with Moray & Agnew. It’s a privilege to work with such fantastic clients and colleagues, and I look forward to helping shape the continued growth and success of our Newcastle teams. There’s real momentum here and I’m proud to be part of it.”

Bryce, Erica, Jackson, and Johanna also specialise in insurance law. Erica works as part of our workers’ compensation team, contributing to a broad range of matters involving both statutory and common law claims. Jackson, Bryce, and Johanna primarily practise in motor accident claims, focusing on the management and resolution of these matters for CTP insurers. Joshua specialises in commercial law, particularly construction & projects, security of payment and commercial dispute resolution.

Moray & Agnew continues to grow in line with client demand, with more than 380 people in our NSW offices (130 in Newcastle and 250 in Sydney), delivering expert insurance, commercial, and government legal services to private and public sector clients of all sizes. The firm is over 800 people strong across the country.

Erin, Bryce, Erica, and Johanna’s achievements are part of 25 senior promotions (including six new partners) announced from 1 July across Moray & Agnew’s seven offices in NSW, VIC, QLD, WA and ACT.
