Monica Clare Recruitment welcome two new team members

Monica Clare Recruitment have welcomed two new starters, Lotte Baker and Alison Slater, to their Newcastle based team.

Lotte joins the team as a Client Engagement Manager, boasting an impressive work history spanning Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Alison brings fresh eyes to her role as Recruitment Consultant, having previously worked as an Operations Manager for a developer and entrepreneur in Sydney.

Originally from the UK, Lotte joins Monica Clare Recruitment with over 20 years’ recruitment experience. Her previous role as Regional Manager saw her manage large-scale, big-budget recruitment projects across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.

She says since her move to Australia six years ago, Monica Clare Recruitment have been on her radar.

“I first approached Monica Clare Recruitment three years ago as they had a strong name in the industry. They had a position available, however I felt I needed to increase my experience in the Newcastle market before I could come onboard,” she said.

The timing was right in 2020, and Lotte jumped at the opportunity to reconnect with Monica Clare Recruitment.

“I was blown away by Monica and Clare from the moment I first saw them at a speaking engagement years ago, both by their business acumen and their courage to set up their own business,” she said.

“I always wanted to work with people I was inspired by and can aspire to be.”

As a Client Engagement Manager, Lotte will focus on recruitment in administration and customer service while also growing the Monica Clare Recruitment client portfolio.

Following the birth of her second child, Alison sought a lifestyle change and settled in Lake Macquarie in late 2019. Her first touchpoint with Monica Clare Recruitment was as a candidate.

“I reached out to Clare in the hope she would help me find a role like my last in operations management. About five minutes into our Zoom call, Clare asked if I would be open to recruitment.”

“Just speaking to Clare, I knew I liked her, and I could tell the culture of the was somewhere I would enjoy working.

“She told me that recruitment is something you fall into and not something you choose. I thought, that’s so true, because I have fallen into every position since dance.”

Alison considered what she hoped for her career and settled on two non-negotiables for her next position: challenge and culture.

“For me it’s about the place I work at; I think I can pick up everything, so why not this.”

Alison will be recruiting in the Technology and Marketing space. On her hopes for her recruitment career over the coming 12 months, Alison says she will be focusing on networking.
