The Hunter’s own legendary football player and coach Michael Hagan has joined a new team. The former Newcastle Knight and premiership winning coach has been appointed as an Ambassador for McCarroll’s Automotive Group in the Hunter.
McCarroll’s Principal Dealer Simon McCarroll said Michael will work with both McCarroll’s Newcastle General Manager Nicholas Bonney and Lexus of Newcastle General Sales Manager Mitchell Wilcox on certain promotional activities.
Michael is also “walking the talk” or “driving the torque” having just taken delivery of a brand new Chrysler 300C from McCarroll’s.
His first task is to join the footy tipping competition that McCarroll’s and radio station KOFM are running this year. He will also be making an appearance a number of McCarroll’s events throughout the year.
Simon said Michael, a family man, shares McCarroll’s values of professionalism, dedication and service to team and community.
“Michael holds the record of having not missed a match in five season with the Knights. That’s the sort of people we have on our team,” Simon said.
Michael Hagan is a premiership winning Newcastle Knights’ coach, former Knights’ player and was the assistant coach of the record breaking Queensland State of Origin Team. Most recently he was head of football at the Knights.
He said he was really looking forward to the role.
“It is a privilege to be working with a successful, family-owned business that has been part of our region for almost 15 years,” Michael said.
“What impresses me most more than McCarroll’s great range of quality vehicles is the way it puts its customers first, treating them like family,” he said.
McCarroll’s Newcastle owns the Lexus of Newcastle dealership at Broadmeadow, the McCarroll’s dealerships at Wickham (selling Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Renault, Volvo, Fiat, Fiat Professional and Alfa Romeo) and a service centre at Broadmeadow. It is part of the McCarroll’s Automotive Group which also has nine car dealerships in Sydney including McCarroll’s Maserati and McCarroll’s Ferrari.
