Knockers and Moles fundraiser event announced for 2023

The Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF) and Hunter Melanoma Foundation (HMF) has released a date to mark in calendars for their Knockers and Moles fundraising event.

Last year the event went to the Hunter Valley vineyards, and this year Knockers and Moles is going to the Cabaret at Warner’s Bay Theatre.

Sponsored by Lake Macquarie City Council, CENTURY 21 Aaron Walter Edgeworth and Valley Estate Agents, the event will be hosted again by Newcastle’s own spectacular Drag Queen, Timberlina on Friday 25 August at 7:30 PM.

The event will provide locals with more than a fun night out, but an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for two of the region’s most prominent cancers.

HBCF General Manager, Abbey McDonell said the Foundation is very excited to be joining forces with HMF again for a third year running.

“Each year Knockers and Moles goes from strength to strength, not only raising a combined total of more than $56,000 for both Foundations, but also raising awareness of what HBCF and HMF do within our local community,” Abbey said.

HMF Executive Officer, Claudia Tolhurst echoes Abbey’s sentiment and said that communities are stronger when they work together.

“The current cost of living is having an impact on everyone, including local charities who rely off the generosity of our local community.

“By uniting as a joint event, we can combine our efforts and raise money along the way.”

“Knockers and Moles is the prime example of our community coming together to help those around them,” Claudia said.

Tickets for Knockers and Moles the Cabaret are now live and available from their website.

Hunter Melanoma Foundation

The Hunter Melanoma Foundation (HMF), an incorporated charity, was formed in the mid 1980’s by patients of the Newcastle Melanoma Unit to raise funds for melanoma in the Hunter Region.

The HMF is proud of its achievements over the past 30+ years and with the support of the local community will continue to work towards not only finding a cure for melanoma but greatly reducing the incidence of melanoma in our region. The only funds we receive are from donations and our own fundraising events so the local community’s support is vital for the HMF to continue towards this goal.
