Hunter-based accounting and financial firm, Prosperity Advisers has scooped the pool in the 2014 Australian Accounting Awards.
Prosperity won the ‘Best Integrated Offering’ award and one of their rising stars, Lilian Luu, was recognised as the ‘Young Accountant of the Year’.
Prosperity CEO, Allan McKeown said they were very proud of the collective efforts of the staff across their Newcastle, Sydney and Brisbane offices.
“The Best Integrated Offering Award is wonderful recognition for the tremendous effort our team is investing into building the advisory firm of the future,” Allan said.
“It is testament to their strong focus on providing our clients with a 360 degree view of their financial landscape.”
“Lilian is a considerable talent and a fine example of the new breed of holistic advisers Prosperity is developing.”
The first annual Awards recognised the individuals and firms across the accounting industry and is an initiative of AccountantsDaily in partnership with Reckon.
Sam Allert, Managing Director Accountants Division at Reckon, congratulated the winners.
“The Australian Accounting Awards highlight the impressive work undertaken by our industry professionals, demonstrating the continued value of accountants as trusted advisers,” Sam said.
“To all of the award winners, you should feel proud to be recognised by your peers and the judging panel for your successes throughout the year.”
Doug Driscoll, one of the members of the judging panel for the ‘Young Accountant of the Year’ award, said that Lilian is always looking to garner information in her personal quest for professional excellence.
“Despite being extremely busy, Lilian always seems to find time for others,” Doug said.
“She has worked extremely hard at getting to where she is today and serves as a great role model for any young accountant entering the industry.”
The win comes hot on the heels of the firm winning a prestigious Edge Award in Montreal, Canada last year. The award was conferred by the Leading Edge Alliance, the second largest international association of accounting firms with over 200 member firms. Prosperity is the first Australian recipient of the award.
