Daracon Group is all set to hit the dirt roads of regional New South Wales for the 2023 Variety Bash.
They’ll be doing it in style with a 1982 WB Holden Statesman, sporting a fresh new look, courtesy of the team at Trick Group.
Kicking off this Sunday (21 May) in Dubbo, the Variety Bash is one of the biggest fundraising events for Variety – the Children’s Charity NSW/ACT, which sees teams traverse the Australian outback in wacky cars, raising money to support disadvantaged children and their families.
Director for Business Development at Daracon Group, Adam Kelly said the Bash is more than just a chance to embark on the adventure of a lifetime; it’s an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of Aussie kids.
“As we celebrate our 40th year at Daracon Group in 2023, we’re thrilled to continue our 20-plus year involvement with Variety NSW,” Adam said.
“The Bash is a fantastic way for us to give back to the community and support Variety’s vision of creating a future where every child, regardless of circumstance or ability, can be supported, included and equal.”
With five team members and Car 10 plus a support vehicle at their disposal, the Daracon Group is gearing up for an unforgettable experience as they join 300 other participants in the Bash.
Kicking things off in Dubbo, then heading through the picturesque towns of regional NSW, the team looks forward to seeing how their fundraising efforts are positively impacting Aussie kids before crossing the finish line in Newcastle on 27 May.
Car 10 Team Captain and Daracon’s Bid Coordinator, Lauren Coates said the Variety Bash is about more than just raising money.
“It’s about spreading joy and excitement to country towns across NSW,” Lauren said.
“We’re honoured to be a part of such a great cause, and we can’t wait to hit the road and make a difference in the lives of children and families in need.”
Since 1999, Daracon Group has regularly participated in the Variety Bash, racking up over 22 Bashes and raising over $1,600,000 for Variety – the Children’s Charity NSW/ACT.
