Newcastle based forensic accounting firm, Delbridge Forensic Accounting, has made two new appointments to position it to meet ongoing demand from a national client base.
Forensic Accounting Specialist, Kimberley Thomas-Cook, has become a Director of the firm. Joining the team is former PwC External Audit Manager, Kirsten Osland.
Founder and Director Suzanne Delbridge said the Hamilton East based firm now has a team of eight. She spoke about how the firm has continued to grow and diversify its services over the past 22 years.
“Our clients are based across Australia and our valuation services regularly include very large-scale, complex, organisations based in Australia and overseas” Suzanne said.
“Forensic accountancy is a highly specialised field that includes business valuation, damages quantification and other accounting services that involve the analysis and preparation of financial information that is often used in court proceedings, so accuracy and attention to detail are vital.”
“Kimberley and Kirsten possess that special combination of accounting, auditing and investigative skills needed for our specialised work, as well as the ability to write a report that is easily understood by the end user, whether that is a judicial officer, legal practitioner or party to proceedings,” Suzanne explained.
Kimberley has been with the firm since 2010 and has now taken an equity stake. Kimberley specialises in preparing complex reports for Family Law matters as well as economic loss reports for compensation to relatives claims, business interruption and other commercial disputes.
A Chartered Accountant Forensic Accounting Specialist, Kimberley has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle and has completed the Kaplan Business Valuation Specialisation.
Kirsten has a decade of experience in external, internal, regulatory and compliance auditing across a diverse range of listed and unlisted companies and not for profit organisations.
he spent two years in the United States auditing Securities and Exchange Commission registered clients. A Chartered Accountant, Kirsten has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle.
The firm has also launched the ninth edition of its acclaimed Family Law Value Handbook. Written by Suzanne and her team, it gives lawyers access to helpful information including valuation methodology and cases, COVID-19 impacts on valuations, the tax implications of a property settlement, assessment tables and information checklists.
