Go Circular, a Hunter-based circular economy advisory organisation, has made some new appointments in their management and leadership team.
The new appointments include Matt Taylor as Board Director and Thomas Michel as General Manager, who both play vital roles to drive growth, innovation and sustainability for the circular economy firm.
With an environmental background and extensive experience in general management and governance, Matt is well placed to further strengthen the board of Go Circular.
“This is an exciting time for Go Circular. Go Circular is leading the way when it comes to circular economy and sustainability related matters, especially with more than 20,000 Australian businesses and their supply chains will be impacted by the Mandatory climate reporting standards from 1 July this year,” Matt said.
“Go Circular is well positioned to support businesses for their mandatory reporting.”
Founder of Go Circular, Annie Jiang said that Matt’s addition to the board supports shared mission and goals as an organisation.
“We think global, act local, as a forward thinking and impact organisation, we have selected like-minded individual to join the board,” Annie said.
Matt has over 25 years’ experience, particular in the people management space and looksforward to bringing his expertise to the progressive Go Circular board.
Matt is also owner and CEO at Heart HR, Chair of Path 2 Change, and Senior Vice Presidentof Newcastle Business Club.
Thomas has extensive experience in the fields of economics, data analytics and change management in the government and community services sectors.
His focus has been on finding practical solutions to society’s wicked problems – including an ongoing passion for designing out waste from our economic system.
“Thomas brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in circular economy and data analytics to the Go Circular team – we are so excited to have Thomas join the team,” Annie said.
“There are so many emerging opportunities in the circular economy space: not only are there ecological imperatives to address resource extraction and waste generation, but more and more businesses are realising that minimising waste can also mean creating cost efficiencies. I am so excited to be part of this impact-focused organisation,” Thomas said.
“Our recent achievements and projected strong growth has led to us needing more horsepower in our management team to help guide the organisation through the next stage,” Annie said.
“Go Circular is well positioned to keep pace with the huge swing into circular economy in both private and public sectors. Thomas adds depth and drive to our locally-based but nationally-focused, dynamic organisation.”
