Happy New Year from HunterNet
For many, the New Year often means new beginnings. It may be a new job opportunity, looking to take on studies to further your education or even maybe planning for retirement. It can also provide a time to reflect on the year that was and to identify how you can do things better and smarter. For many businesses, January presents an opportunity to plan for the year ahead. What resources will we need? What opportunities should we be tracking? What is working in my business and what can we do better?
An issue individuals often consider at the beginning of a New Year is work-life balance. The ability to meet your work commitments whilst having quality time for yourself and your family is a common problem faced by many. This is particularly an issue for many of our HunterNet members who have worked long and hard to establish their business. It is a constant challenge to regularly remove yourself from the work environment and ensure that other aspects of your life are also fulfilled. It is also important for business owners to ensure that their employees are also supported to achieve an appropriate work-life balance. Work-life balance should become part of your planning for the coming year.
The team at HunterNet are also busily planning for our year ahead. As always, we will continue to offer our regular forums in infrastructure, resources, advanced manufacturing and defence as well as our monthly general member meetings. We have also introduced in 2018 our new Business Support Forum series, which will involve keynote speakers in the areas of human resources, sustainability, finance, safety, IT and marketing. Furthermore, in our commitment to supporting the business community of the Hunter, we have introduced a new membership category of Associate Member. This membership is designed to support and assist startup or small businesses with growth into the future.
As the proverb goes, “a rolling stone gathers no moss”. “It is important that at HunterNet we continue to evolve and seek out new ways of doing things and delivering value to our members,” said Tony Cade, CEO of HunterNet.
We at HunterNet wish everyone a prosperous and safe 2018.
