Slingshot are once again calling on startups and scale-ups that want to take advantage of access to NRMA’s 2.4-million members, investment of $30,000, as well as being part of Australia’s premier corporate accelerator program.
This Monday night Slingshot is inviting local entrepreneurs and members of the corporate and tech start up community to come along and hear more details on how to apply, as well as share some food and drinks with other startups that have recently gone through the program.
From the last intake local companies HiveUAV and Camplify have received follow-on funding that is enabling them to take on the world with their ideas.
Slingshot co-founder Craig Lambert said we have had a strong Newcastle presence in all of our intakes and we are hoping for the same this time around.
“We know the region is developing better entrepreneurs and ideas all of the time and we would like to see them apply for funding and mentorship through the program,” Craig said. Importantly, NRMA is Australia’s largest member organisation and being a Jumpstart participant provides the potential opportunity to work with a large, engaged customer base.”
The University of Newcastle (UoN) are a premium partner of Slingshot and Vice Chancellor Caroline McMillian will be on hand to talk about the UoN’s role in innovation, and will be joined by Kyle Loads president of NRMA discussing the outcomes for the last program and NRMA’s vision for the future.
Director Geoff Crews, from event sponsors Forsythes Recruitment, said the event is a great opportunity for local entrepreneurs to access funding without having to move to Sydney.
“The fact that the Jumpstart program has chosen Newcastle as one of its launch cities is evidence to the growing interest in technology innovation in the area,” Geoff said.
