nib health funds (nib) has partnered with Hunter TAFE to offer their employees and TAFE Alumni a special corporate offer when they join nib.
Newcastle Knights legends and Hunter TAFE Alumni, Paul Harragon and Mark Sargent as well as current player Alex McKinnon joined fellow Alumni on Thursday night at Hunter Stadium to celebrate the partnership.
Speaking at the partnership announcement, nib’s Chief Financial Officer, Michelle McPherson said the corporate offer will provide a discount on nib’s health insurance products to Hunter TAFE employees and Alumni.
“We are proud to partner with a fellow Hunter organisation that will see their employees and Alumni be eligible to receive a discount off their nib health insurance cover,” Michelle said.
The corporate health plan will also see nib provide a two and six month waiver on waiting periods for selected Extras.
Hunter TAFE Associate Director, Christine Warrington, said the initiative is an example of how Hunter TAFE Alumni is responding to the needs of its members.
“Since its launch in July 2012, the Hunter TAFE Alumni Association has seen significant growth and enthusiasm in membership. We have reconnected with many of our successful graduates,” Christine said.
Hunter TAFE and the Newcastle Knights signed a memorandum of understanding earlier this year that provides players with learning options to suit their needs.
As a result of this partnership, Alex McKinnon and teammates Korbin Sims, Dane Gagai, Tyrone Roberts, Adam Clydesdale and Joe Tapin have undertaken media training at Hunter TAFE.
Chairman of Newcastle Knights, Paul Harragon, said alliances with organisations such as Hunter TAFE demonstrates the Clubs’ commitment to education.
