Newcastle Permanent has embarked on its largest digital and IT recruitment drive in its 115 year history.
This week Newcastle Permanent commenced recruitment for a range of specialist roles to join its fast-growing and talented software development, technical services, digital banking, business intelligence, and service delivery teams.
The recruitment drive is a result of the implementation of a series of multi-year major strategic projects across the organisation. The aim of these projects is to digitise key business processes and enhance customer touchpoints, including the branch network, customer lending, internet banking and mobile apps, and online account opening.
Newcastle Permanent CEO, Terry Millett said the organisation was about to embark on the biggest digital transformation in its history and it was an exciting time to become part of the Newcastle Permanent team.
“These multi-year digitally-focussed projects are a direct result of our customers’ changing preferences for digital services,” Terry said.
“As an industry, we’re rapidly moving towards a time where customers, if they wish, will not need to visit a branch to do any of their banking.
“Through the creation and recruitment of these new specialist roles, we will be able to fast-track our digital transformation programs to deliver high-quality digital banking services to our customers.
“Everything we do is driven by our desire to improve the lives of our customers and community. We are 100% owned by our customers and we believe this creates better outcomes—without the negative consequences of the profit maximising cultures of the major banks.”
Newcastle Permanent is one of the Hunter’s largest employers, employing almost 1,000 staff across northern and central west NSW.
This local and national recruitment drive will increase the depth of the in-house teams, with the aim of attracting highly qualified candidates to Newcastle Permanent, proudly headquartered in the Hunter region.
“We’re looking for like-minded people who will continually strive to deliver a better way of banking for our customers,” Terry said.
The roles will be advertised and recruited through a staged roll-out during the next six months.
