Jobseekers and local businesses searching for talent will now receive further benefits and expertise, as Forsythes Recruitment & HR’s acquire Whipper Recruitment.
On 1 October, Whipper Recruitment will close its doors at The Junction and staff will move to Forsythes’ Newcastle office, as Gail Whipper retires after more than 40 years in the industry.
Geoff said the acquisition is part of Forsythes’ continued expansion. It comes hot on the heels of its acquisition of Greater Western Sydney’s largest independently owned recruitment firm, Penrith Personnel, last year.
“Forsythes and Whipper have complementary clients who will now benefit from access to a larger talent pool and specialist human resource and recruitment experts,” Geoff said.
“Job seekers will have access to a larger database of potential employers.”
The two heads of the Hunter region’s best-known recruitment firms started speaking about the acquisition a year ago.
“Our businesses fit well culturally, and Whipper’s staff complement our talented people,” Geoff said.
“Whipper Recruitment, and Gail, are very well respected, highly professional and have the same roll up the sleeves approach to client and candidate service”.
Hunter born and raised, Gail started her career locally before moving to London. There, she worked for the world’s then largest recruitment firm, Alfred Marks Bureau. Returning to Australia, she managed the firm’s Sydney office before re-settling in Newcastle. Gail did some special project work for Forsythes prior to establishing Richardson Whipper Recruitment. In 2005 she founded Whipper Recruitment.
She said she chose to sell to Forsythes Recruitment & HR because of the synergy in approach to client service that the two firms share. She believes her long-standing clients will be in good hands.
The golf course beckons, and Gail looks forward to devoting more time to her favourite charity, I Am Here. With plans to travel to London on hold, she will be getting her toes on the sand of the NSW north coast’s beautiful beaches.
Hunter-headquartered Forsythes Recruitment & HR has offices in Newcastle, the Upper Hunter, Central Coast, Greater Western Sydney and a serviced office in Macquarie Park, Sydney. It is also a member of NPA worldwide cooperative, providing clients with global reach. The firm employs 50 specialist recruitment and HR consultants as well as a thousand contractors across a range of employer sites and projects.
