A leading Hunter business is urging the business community to get behind the rebuilding of the Newcastle Jets Football Club by becoming members.
The executive of the Greater Building Society have all signed up to become members and the financial institution is providing membership incentives for staff too. The Greater’s leadership team were thanked for their membership and corporate support by Jets’ players at a presentation at The Greater’s Hamilton headquarters.
The presentation follows the launch of a new ‘Jets in Business’ program and the signing of another corporate partner.
At the Jets In Business launch, 25 Hunter-based businesses signed up as founding members of the Club’s business networking group. Jets’ Interim CEO David Eland said the program is run in partnership with existing football supporting business group, Rangers of 1884.
“The program aims to strengthen the club’s ties to the local business community,” David said. “Program members receive a range of commercial and promotional benefits such as tickets to networking luncheons and match day hospitality.”
The inaugural members were the first to get their hands on the new Newcastle Jets 2015/16 Hyundai A-League home kits.
Leading global smartphone and tablet brand, ALCATEL ONETOUCH, has joined major community partner The Greater, major partner BLK, major sponsor Inspirations Paint, home game major sponsor Beechwood Homes and other partners and suppliers as the newest member of the Jets’ corporate family.
The Greater’s CEO Scott Morgan said there are benefits for local business from getting behind the home-based football team.
“As a customer owned banking organisation we’re about supporting customers and community and a strong, successful local football team is good for our community,” Scott said.
“Helping the Jets to be more accessible to the community and to build its membership base is good for the Jets and The Greater and we hope it also inspires boys and girls to be active or to perform at the highest level in their chosen field,” he said.
David said the support from the business community for the renewal of the Jets has been outstanding. He said with more business support and more members the Club will have even stronger foundations for success.
“The Jets’ has improved its corporate offerings to give businesses great value benefits and networking opportunities,” David continued.
“Jets in Business is a direct result of the feedback we heard from the business community during our community consultation.”
