Positive disruption and innovation are the pathways we take to achieve sustainability and meet future challenges. CSIRO Chief Executive Dr. Larry Marshall has stated, ‘Australia is at a pivotal point. There is a tidal wave of disruption on the way, and it’s critical we take steps now to get ahead of it.’ The CSIRO Global Megatrends are trajectories of change that typically unfold over years or decades and have the potential for substantial and transformative impacts.

This year, our Future Leaders Project Teams faced the challenge of positioning themselves as a consultancy firm. They had to partner with a HunterNet Member Organisation (with no direct link to any team member or their immediate family) to identify and select one of the seven CSIRO Global Megatrends. As a result, you may receive an email or phone call from one of our Project teams in the coming days. The goal this year is to develop a strategy and action plan for the organization to implement into their operation, achieving sustainability and meeting future challenges.
