Two experienced Senior Lawyers have joined the team at Hunter-based Catherine Henry Lawyers (CHL) as part of the firm’s plans to ensure it is the leading health and relationship law firm in regional NSW.
Rob Dilley has joined as Team Leader in Relationship Law while Rosemary Listing is the firm’s Special Counsel in Health Law.
CEO, Stephen Phillips said both lawyers bring the skills and experience to expand the range of services and support the firm can offer its clients.
He said the appointments come at a time of growing demand for specialist support in health and relationship law.
Stephen said these senior appointments are in addition to Family Lawyer, Janine Stevens who will join the firm later this month to work from Armidale and Newcastle.
He said Janine will use her extensive expertise and experience in dispute resolution to provide clients with cost effective and timely results.
“Rosemary, Rob, and Janine strengthen our team’s ability to give people in regional NSW the representation they deserve,” Stephen said.
“We are running cases for more than 100 women who have suffered at the hands of disgraced cosmetic surgeon, Dr Leslie Blackstock. We continue to run vaginal mesh (pelvic mesh) cases and other cases where people suffer due to problems with health devices and procedures.
“Family law, property matters, wills and other estate planning matters are often linked or should be and Rob will ensure our clients continue to receive comprehensive service in these and other critical aspects of relationship law.
“Both Rob and Rosemary have skills and work experience in, and a passion for, consumer advocacy. CHL advocates for the vulnerable, and for legal and government reform and system improvements, as well as seeking justice and compensation for clients.”
Rob will be working across various relationship law practice areas including family law, elder law, and wills and estate planning, as well as leasing and conveyancing law and criminal law.
He has gained extensive experience as a senior lawyer after graduating from the University of Newcastle. Before becoming a lawyer, Rob spent 20 years working for community organisations.
Rosemary commenced work at the firm in March to serve clients in the areas of medical negligence, consumer protection, and product liability.
She will also assist with insurance claims law, making complaints about poor healthcare, guardianship matters, and inquests.
Rosemary brings a wealth of international and Australian experience in medical negligence and consumer protection cases. Through the Australian National University, she is completing a PhD on consumer protection, focusing on failed and defective medical devices.
Rob, Rosemary and Janine will work closely with Senior Associate in Elder Law, Tanya Chapman, who joined the firm in January.
Meanwhile, the firm has been named a finalist for Regional and Suburban Firm of the Year in the Australian Law Awards. The winners will be announced in Sydney on 20 August.
