Two local job listing sites become one

Job vacancies in the Hunter region just got even easier to recruit with local online job boards Newcastle & Hunter Jobs and Jobs in the Hunter merging.

The amalgamation of the two successful sites will provide one central place, Jobs in the Hunter, for job seekers and recruiters to fulfill their needs.

CEO Tim O’Brien said that the combination of the two organisations is a win for Hunter businesses.

“The premise of a localised job board is to assist recruitment agencies and organisations to find the right fit person for their organisation,” Tim said.

“Instead of dividing the marketplace, the merger of the two popular sites will ensure that organisations will be able to post all their local jobs in the one place.”

All jobs can be displayed for free, for up to 42 days. Featured job listings are also available providing greater exposure and promotion.

“This merger reinforces our commitment to promoting and securing local employment in the Hunter region,” Tim said.

“The site will continue its simplicity and excellent value through the free job ad placements, especially for small to medium businesses who find recruiting new and replacement staff both arduous and expensive.”

Jobs in the Hunter has seen remarkable growth since its launch in August 2012, with an average of more than 350 local jobs listed at any one time.

Newcastle & Hunter Jobs was established earlier in the year by local businessman Daniel Irving, and has been embraced by the region.

Jobs in the Hunter is able to provide free job listings due to partnerships with business, including major partners Job Centre Australia and Inspire Success HR Consultants and support from NSW Trade & Investment.
