For one night only, Parry St creatives will open up their studio doors in celebration of creativity and innovation.
On Friday 22 September, leading creatives in Newcastle will open their studio doors at INNX warehouse, a coworking space in Parry Street, for the free Masters + Creators event.
The event is not simply a showcase of some of Newcastle’s top agencies and creatives, but a celebration of community and innovation, with a keynote address being given by one of Australia’s most sought-after motivational entrepeneurs, Jack Delosa.
INNX Director, Shane Burrell said the event will showcase many of the INNX locals, including designers, marketing and branding agencies, filmmakers, architects, photographers and an array of the region’s top freelancers.
“There is such a vibrant creative culture evolving in Newcastle, specifically Newcastle West,” Shane said.
“What’s remarkable is that we are seeing the bigger cities take notice and begin to bring work here. For example, I can be in Melbourne and see a TV commercial or a print ad and be blown away knowing it was produced out of INNX.
“It’s an inspiring moment for the creative community in Newcastle and we want to share it and celebrate it.”
The Edwards will be hosting the official after party, which will be a top spot to view the street projections that will be featured as part of the event. In association with Newcastle Now, the exterior walls of INNX will be lit up with large scale projections exhibiting work from the major agencies.
The event will also celebrate the work of fellow Parry St neighbours, The Hunter Design School, which will be opening their gallery to showcase the work of their students.
The revival of Newcastle West and in particular Parry St has been a community effort and the momentum has been steadily building from within the creative community.
The co-working model is one that fosters a strong sense of community whilst allowing independence. In the case of INNX, it has allowed for growth and collaborations between companies and individuals which most likely would not have eventuated had it not been for the co-working community.
The Masters + Creators event will endeavour to inspire guests to engage in community, be it creative or not, champion innovation and the joy of creating work to be proud of.
